Collaborating with Other Teachers

Collaborating is an important part of becoming an effective teacher whether it's between a special education teacher and a general education teacher, between a novice and veteran teacher, between coworkers, or even between cooperating teacher and student teachers.
Collaboration is a great way to share different teaching strategies and ideas, and discussing the things that are and aren't working within the classroom curriculum. It's important to see other perspectives and views of teaching besides your own.

One of my best experiences with collaboration was during my time as a student teacher. Not only was I learning from my cooperating teacher, Connie, but she was learning from me. Together, we worked on something completely new to both of us : Book Club. We created a progression of lessons together, which are shown below.
